Our Vision
We’re working on projects to rewild the land, enhance biodiversity, expand our rare breed livestock, and create spaces for people to stay, dine, and participate in retreats. We also plan to offer workshop spaces for traditional crafts and skills.

Re-wilding
At our core, we are passionate advocates for biodiversity restoration and ecosystem resilience. Through re-wilding initiatives, we strive to provide the land with the opportunity and space to allow nature to shape the landscape and create vibrant habitats. Our efforts involve protecting woodlands, establishing woodland pastures, hedge laying, tree planting, and restoring wetlands. Our ultimate dream lies in reintroducing lost native species, catalysing the true regeneration of our landscape.
Community
Sustainable farming thrives within sustainable communities. We aim to foster safe environments where people can access healthy lifestyles and appreciate, protect, and enhance the environment. We are in the process of setting up a space to host retreats throughout the year, providing young individuals with a safe, empowering opportunity to connect with nature. These retreats will focus on well-being while offering the chance to learn traditional crafts and gain valuable work experience. As we develop, we look forward to expanding these offerings and deepening our impact on the community.
Retreat Into Nature
Hidden away in our old English woodland, we are in the process of developing ecologically built and operated retreats that invite a deeper connection with nature. These retreats will offer guests privacy amidst nature and wildlife within off-grid, hand-built structures made using organic materials and natural processes. During their stay at North of Nowhere Farm, guests will be invited to learn about the full farm-to-table experience and have the opportunity to get hands-on with regenerative agriculture: where we will offer courses in no-dig market gardening, permaculture and biodiversity.
The Glasshouse
Our greenhouse inspired eco-building, to be constructed from sustainable materials, will serve as the setting for both food workshops and a unique dining experience. Guests will be able to enjoy the farm-to-table dining experience within the Glasshouse, overlooking the terraced Market Gardens. The food workshops will focus on creating healthy, nutritious food that benefits well-being and will cover topics such as field preparation, fermenting, foraging, baking, curing, and smoking.
Geodome Retreats
Our Geodesic Dome Retreat space is designed for workshops and well-being classes. Located on a terrace with woodland views, this venue accommodates groups of up to 20. Whether attending a well-being session or hosting an event, the Geodome provides a peaceful setting in the heart of the woodland.
North Studios
North Studios: Creative Communal Workspaces will serve as the communal hub for the farm, fostering learning, support, and inspiration. These spaces will celebrate traditional skills and provide resources for various crafts, including:
-
Traditional Skills and Carpentry
-
Ceramics Studio
-
Bicycle Repair Studio
-
Basketry and Steam Bending Studio
-
Yoga and Wellbeing Studio
-
Farm Shop and Café Space
This communal environment will encourage collaboration and creativity while connecting individuals to the rich heritage of handmade skills.
Rewilding Waters: Natural Swimming Lake
Rewilding Waters
One of our most exciting projects this year has been creating a natural swimming lake: a dream we've held since the day we purchased this land. Our woodlands have a rich history, once serving as a wildlife park. As the forest reclaimed the land, remnants of its past, like old boundaries and banks, still remain. The natural swimming pool is located in what was once the park’s lake. However, it was never properly clay-lined, preventing it from retaining water, and the area became devoid of wildlife. This year marks the beginning of its transformation. Join us on this journey as we restore the space into a vibrant haven. This will be a place for people to enjoy, fostering a deep reconnection with nature and the wildlife that shares our home. The lake will feature a dedicated swimming zone, surrounded by aquatic plants that naturally filter and purify the water. We're also planning to build a sauna overlooking the lake, and eventually create a unique space for events, all nestled deep within the heart of our woodland.
